JACKSON, MI – Country music icon Hank Williams Jr. will return to the Jackson County Fair for the first time in 35 years this summer.
Williams Jr. will perform with special guest Granger Smith, featuring Earl Dibbles Jr., on Tuesday, Aug. 9. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m.
Williams Jr.’s first and only performance at the fair came in 1987.
The Larry the Cable Guy and Jeff Foxworthy comedy show is also set to take the stage at the fair on Sunday, Aug. 7.

Williams Jr., son of country music legend Hank Williams, has sold 70 million albums worldwide, including six platinum albums, 20 gold albums and 13 No. 1 albums. He’s also had 10 No. 1 singles in his five-decade career.
Williams Jr.’s other accolades include induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame and Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.
In 2016, he released the album “It’s About Time,” his 37th, which debuted at No. 2 on the Top Country Albums chart and No. 15 on the Billboard 200.
Smith has a large social media following known as “Yee Yee Nation.” He broke onto the national scene with “Remington,” an album featuring his No. 1 hit “Backroad Song,” which he followed with the Top-5 hit, “If The Boot Fits.”
In 2020, Smith released his 10th studio album called “Country Things.” Smith also has published the book, “If You’re City, If You’re Country,” which went to No. 1 on Amazon’s best-selling lists.

Tickets range from $40 to $75 and go on sale March 4. They can be purchased online at JacksonCountyFair.net or Etix.com.
